News About Fairtrade Gold’s Progress in the North American Market

Fairtrade gold is making good progress toward its North American launch.

It is not that fairtrade gold has not been available. For the past 18 mesi, I have offered fairtrade gold wedding rings to my customers, most recently purchasing directly from Cookson’s. It is inexpensive to ship the gold and affordable for a small jeweler.

Ora, the new the lower premium will mean that jewelers can afford to use it for more of their jewelry production. This will drive real tangible benefits back to the certified Fairtrade Miners as they will be selling more gold– ultimately creating a greater economic impact to these producer communities.

Fairtrade America, which recently opened an office in the US, will provide infrastructure necessary for a solid platform in the planning for a roll out. The fairtrade label is one of the most powerful marketing brands in the world and as I jeweler, I look forward to the time when fairtrade puts their decades of marketing experience toward a robust US roll out.
